VFS Voice Acting for Teens: Audition. Cast. Record (on campus) Aug 4-5

From the page to microphone in two days, learn the art of voice acting in this course for teens, taught in the heart of Vancouver, BC.

This interactive workshop led by industry professionals will cover script breakdown, character creation and voice acting fundamentals for the exciting world of video games and animation. Mornings will be spent developing fully embodied characters, auditioning for voice acting and freeing the voice. Afternoons will be spent learning mic technique and recording in our Sound Studio where students will take home the raw samplers of their work. Finishing with an A.M.A. students will get the inside scoop of working as a Voice Actor in Vancouver.

Schedule: August 4th-5th, 9am-4pm, (On Campus)

Day 1:

9am to 12 pm Approach to Character: This workshop helps you connect with your instrument and approach text organically. Learn VFS’s craft approach: commit with intention, embody story and character, and master basics of text analysis.

1pm to 4pm – Production: Recording for Video Games. Learn on the mic technique, then record and review scenes from Video Games.
Day 2:

9am to 12pm – Audition and Casting: Learn the basics of auditions for Voice Acting. Everything from realistic high stakes anime to other worldly creatures and fantastical beasts.

1pm to 4pm – Production: Recording for Animation. Practice on the mic technique, then record and review scenes from Animation.
