Milner Gardens & Woodland is an ancient forest and garden oasis by the sea. Stroll the winding woodland trails through our towering Douglas fir forest, guiding you to ten acres of botanical garden laden with rare species of Rhododendrons. Enjoy afternoon tea at the Camellia Tea Room inside the historic Milner House (1929) – complete with a grand view of the Salish Sea and coastal mountains.
Not only does this estate bring you to a sense of total tranquility, but we also host a calendar of annual events, provide a fairytale setting for weddings, offer onsite programming that fosters education and connection to nature through the ages, sell plants from our private Milner Collection, and a have a beautifully curated selection of gifts and treasures in our Gift Shop. This once private estate was donated to Vancouver Island University (Malaspina College) in 1996 with the intention that it be opened to the public to be enjoyed by all for generations – come and explore it for yourselves!
